Drag and Drop EEG/EMG and TMS Triggers

Paradigm Elements for Ports is the easy way to add device triggers to your Paradigm experiments.

  • Synchronize triggers with the onset of images, sounds and movies.
  • Send different triggers depending on correct or incorrect response.
  • Send multiple triggers during a movie or sound stimulus.
  • Send triggers to multiple devices simultaneously.
  • Send Parallel Port triggers via USB with the Paradigm USB-to-Parallel Port Converter.

This short video demonstrates how easy it is to add device triggers to your Paradigm experiments. You'll learn how to send triggers to mark stimulus and response onsets, send multiple triggers during a single stimulus and send triggers to multiple devices using Paradigm Element's simple drag and drop interface.

Flexible stimulus presentation with EEG/EMG and TMS integration

Paradigm Elements for Ports allows you to build your experiment using Paradigm's intuitive experiment builder and integrate it with a wide range of EEG/EMG and TMS systems. Using a small set of drag and drop commands you'll be able to send triggers to mark stimulus onsets and responses, send multiple triggers during stimuli, and send simultaneous triggers to multiple devices.

Integration with a wide range of devices

With Paradigm Elements for Ports you'll be able to send triggers to a wide range of devices using a parallel port, network port, serial port or the DIO-24 from Measurement Computing.

Elements for Ports supports hardware from BrainVision, Enobio, Emotiv, Neuroscan, ANT, BioSemi, Biopac and Magstim.

Simultaneous triggers to multiple devices

Paradigm Elements for Ports enables simultaneous data collection by letting you send triggers to multiple devices simultaneously. For example, a combined EEG, Biopac experiment or a combined EEG and ASL eye tracker experiments using our Paradigm Elements for ASL product. Paradigm Elements lets you conduct cutting edge multi-modal research using a variety of devices.

Send multiple triggers during a stimulus

When presenting movies or long audio files you often want to mark events at multiple time points during the stimulus presentation. Paradigm Elements lets you specify whether a trigger should be sent at stimulus onset or at some later point during the stimulus. You'll be able to perform much more accurate analysis of, for instance, ERP responses to events during a variety of active stimuli.

Elements triggers are added directly to the events in your experiment so you get the best possible synchronization between triggers and the events in your experiment.

Conditional Response Triggers

Using Paradigm Elements for Ports, you can specify unique triggers for correct, incorrect and non-responses. Paradigm will send the correct or incorrect response trigger based on the correct response you specify in the stimulus event or will send a "no response" trigger if the event times out.

Introducing the Paradigm USB to Parallel Port Converter

Paradigm Elements for Ports allows you to connect to your EEG/EMG or TMS system using our USB to Parallel Port converter. You'll finally be able to send millisecond accurate triggers to your device using a standard USB connection.

Python scripting interface

Paradigm Elements gives you access to trigger commands through Paradigm's Python scripting interface. You can send triggers as part of any script implementation giving you maximum flexibility and control.
